Tangerine London Ltd (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit or order from tangerinelondon.com, why, and what rights you have. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We share data only where necessary, with:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the Site and processes orders;
  • Shopify Payments (and PayPal, if enabled) — to take payment securely;
  • Delivery couriers — Royal Mail, to fulfil your UK order; [CONFIRM: update if you use a different courier, e.g. DPD/Evri]
  • Klaviyo — our email marketing platform, if you’ve opted into marketing; [CONFIRM: replace with your actual provider, e.g. Mailchimp/Omnisend, or remove this line entirely if you’re not doing email marketing yet]
  • Google Analytics and Meta Pixel — where you’ve consented to non-essential cookies, to help us understand Site traffic and measure advertising. [CONFIRM: remove Meta Pixel if you’re not running Facebook/Instagram ads]

We never sell your personal data.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site (essential), remember your preferences (functional), and — with your consent — understand how visitors use the Site and show relevant ads (analytics/marketing). You can manage your preferences via our cookie banner or your browser settings. Essential cookies can’t be switched off as they’re required for the Site to function (e.g. keeping items in your basket).

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our providers (e.g. Shopify, certain analytics/marketing tools) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain order and account data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above, and to meet our legal obligations (e.g. UK tax law generally requires records to be kept for 6 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or we identify you as inactive.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate data;
  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention requirements;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Data portability;
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing);
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at customersupport@tangerinelondon.com.

Our Products and Site are not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (including those provided by Shopify’s infrastructure) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
